Sun & Sector Lodge No.962
| W Bro John Joseph Robinson PPrSGD passed to the Grand Lodge above at approx 7:15pm on Friday 3rd September 2010, at the home of his partner Mary. John was a past master of Sun & Sector Lodge No 962, into which he was initiated on 17 Nov 1976. He became Worshipful Master in June 1988 and he stepped back into the chair in June 2007 for a second term as Worshipful Master. He being the only member for over 100 years to serve a second year in the chair of this lodge not as a result of an emergency. John was a quiet man who always saw the funny side of every situation, and regularly brought a smile to the faces of those around him. John had beaten cancer many years ago, but had to make regular visits to the RVI hospital in Newcastle for checkups and maintenance. He was diagnosed with cancer once again in May this year and went through the pain of radio therapy and then chemo therapy without a hint of complaint. John's daughter Lorraine, from a previous marriage, had travelled from New Zealand to be with him, and her brother John had travelled up from the south of England. Mary has been superbly supported by her daughter Margaret as she nursed John in his final days. Our prayers and thoughts go out to them all at this very sad time.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, 9th September at 10:30 am at St Mary's Church, Westfield, followed by cremation at Distington at 11:15am. |

Eden Lodge No.2285
| We said 'Goodbye' to Lee and his funeral was attended by lots of people - he was a very popular member of Eden Lodge and will be missed in a very big way. We will also miss his postings on the Joke Forum of which he was probably one of the largest contributors. Freemasonry and the Forum in particular has lost a great asset. |
